Bill Bowen, 76, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2017, while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born October 11, 1940 in Linton, Indiana to the late Marion A. and Anna Bowen. The family later moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he grew up. In addition to his parents, Bill was also preceded in death by a son, Richard Bowen.

Bill graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology. While working his way through college, he served as a policeman for the city of Phoenix. He retired from the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Department of Environmental Protection Agency, as the Regional Supervisor of Waste Management where he also served on the Environmental Response Team. During his career, he was a member of the Professional Geologists in Kentucky and Indiana, the Society of Mining Engineers, and the Association of Environmental and Engineering Geologists.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Lenee; sons, Rodney (Christine) Bowen of Woodinville, WA and William Bowen of Phoenix, his stepchildren, Charlie (Heidi) Dees of Owensboro and Missy (Patrick) Lay of Apex, N.C., and eight grandchildren.

A Memorial service will be held at a later date in Woodinville, WA.
