Our hearts go out to all of you since hearing of Effie's death. We did not know that she was sick again, so it was quite a shock to hear of her death. Our last memory of Effie was at Paris convention this past Oct. She and Sue sat right behind us, and Effie was singing the hymns with all of her heart - and we could exchange little words with them often. We saw Effie when she was in Nashville years ago and it was questionable whether she would make it. You would value these many more years with her and have great comfort from the God of all comfort. Love and care in Christ, Alda and Ann

Sue, Zelia and I want to express our deepest sympathies. We are saddened to know of Effie's passing. This is what we thought: We will meet but we will miss her; there will be one empty chair. The world seems a smaller place. We know that she is not suffering anymore. Sharon and Zelia Shain

I'll always remember the "4 O" (Owensboro) "girls" gardening with our family in Hawesville, eating fresh onions and watermelons right there in the garden and laughing! The 4 O girls sure made gardening more fun! Some of my earliest memories are having snacks with the Culver girls and others in the bunk house at Madisonville. We were fortunate to have such wonderful friends and examples when we were kids.

"A merry heart doeth good like a medicine". This verse in Proverbs reminds me of Effie. I have such good memories of Friday evenings on the farm when the four "Owensboro girls" would come and help in the garden. I also remember staying up late every year to see the New Year in, and the later it got, the more Effie giggled. On a more solemn note, I remember her courage and positive attitude when she was battling Hodkin's Disease over 30 years ago. I'm so glad we got to have her 30+ more years, they were rich years for her both naturally and spiritually. Our thoughts are with you, wish we could be there in person. Mary Ann and family

Remember the days Lois Roe and I used to visit all the young folks there, and now we are getting very close to being the "older generation." Love to all.Doug and Phyllis Wilson
